3 dead, 1 hurt in shooting at South Carolina oceanfront motel

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Myrtle Beach police say three people have been shot and killed and another person injured at a motel in the popular resort city.

Myrtle Beach Police Capt. David Knipes said at a news conference that the shooting happened around 11 p.m. at the Bermuda Sands Motel. At least two of the victims died on a breezeway just outside the doors to the rooms of the motel.

Police haven't said whether they have any suspects or given details about what led to the shooting. But a witness told The Sun News that several people were fighting on the sidewalk in front of the motel minutes before the shooting.

Memorial Day weekend is one of the most popular times at one of South Carolina's busiest tourism spots.
