Benton police arrest 3 in burglary

Three people were arrested after they purportedly robbed a residence in Benton on Friday, police said.

At 8:35 p.m., Benton police responded to the 400 block of Ashby Street for a burglary in progress, a news release from the department states. There, officers made contact with one suspect — who was later identified as 25-year-old Alexander Wall — outside of the residence, a news release states.

After further investigation, officers discovered that two other suspects were still inside.

Samantha Wilder, 25, was located shortly after police apprehended Wall, and Dillan Billingsley, 26, fled the scene, police said.

Officers located Billingsley after chasing him on foot, and he was taken into custody.

All three suspects were transported to the Saline County jail for processing.

Wilder is charged with residential burglary, while Walls is charged with residential burglary, obstruction of governmental operation and other warrants out of the Benton Police Department.

Billingsley is charged with aggravated residential burglary, fleeing on foot, possession of drug paraphernalia, use of a communications device to facilitate a crime, use of another person’s property to facilitate a crime and possession of a firearm by certain persons.

As of 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Billingsley is still listed on the Saline County sheriff's office inmate roster, but Lt. Kevin Russell said Wilder and Walls have bonded out and are no longer in custody.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges could be forthcoming, police said.
