A 20-year-old pizza deliveryman who said he used his martial arts training to fend off three robbers will not lose his job, despite violating the pizza company's policy. Chris Patterson clocked in at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Papa John's Pizza, 11321 Markham St. "He is not going to lose his job," said Mike Pierce Sr., owner of all Papa John's franchises in Arkansas and president of Arkansas Pizza Group. "We've got him coming to the office [Wednesday] to see if he needs any counseling." Patterson, who said he holds a black belt in karate, said he doesn't need therapy after fighting off three attackers Sunday during a delivery to a west Little Rock apartment complex. "I think Papa John's made a good decision, but I don't want counseling. Give me a raise," Patterson said. "I barely scrape by." Patterson makes $5.15 an hour plus tips delivering pizzas for Papa John's.
