Sylvan Hills High School in Sherwood was locked down Wednesday morning after a student purportedly threatened other students and faculty late Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
A Sherwood police officer was told that a Sylvan Hills High School student had made "threats of violence" toward other students and staff late Tuesday, according to a statement from the Sherwood Police Department.
The male student, whose name has not been released, was identified and arrested around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said.
He was charged with terroristic threatening and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, both felonies, and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said no weapons have been found on the school grounds, located at 484 Bear Paw Road, but the investigation is ongoing.
The student was taken to the Pulaski County juvenile detention center in Little Rock.
