The former president of the Razorback Foundation who oversaw more than $220 million in fundraising there has been named president of the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation.

Chuck Dicus will succeed Steve Smith as president of the Game and Fish nonprofit organization on July 1.

"We are excited to have Chuck join us as he brings over 17 years of fundraising experience with him," foundation Chairman Randy Milligan said in a statement. "Throughout his time with the Razorback Foundation, Inc., Chuck worked with Arkansans in every part of the state. We know that these relationships will be of great benefit to our foundation and we are excited to see Chuck help us grow."

Dicus, an all-American wide receiver for the Razorbacks, played three years in the National Football League and later served as an assistant football coach at the University of Memphis. From 1991 to 2008, he led the Razorback Foundation, the private entity that raises money for University of Arkansas athletics.

In the statement, Smith called Dicus an "avid outdoorsman" who "will continue to ensure that youth around our state have access to outdoor hunting and fishing activities and continue to learn the values encouraged by our foundation."
