TEAS V Test Date

NEWPORT — Arkansas State University-Newport will administer the TEAS V (Test for Essential Academic Skills) at 9 a.m. in the library at the Academic Support Center at ASUN. The test is limited to 22 examinees. The fee is $40 and must be paid in advance at the ASUN Business Office. Championship Bull Riding

SALEM — The Fulton County Fair will bring bull riding back to Salem on Saturday with the Hills Auto Sales/RLH Construction Bull Bust at the Fulton County Fairgrounds Arena. The Bull Bust, which will start at 8 p.m., is sanctioned by the Bull Riders of America and produced by Hall Rodeo Co. The Kids Calf Scramble and Mutton Busting will begin at 7:30 p.m. Parking is free, and admission is $12 for teens and adults, and $5 for children 6-12. Children younger than 6 will be admitted free. Holiday Puppets Family Show

FAIRFIELD BAY — The Holiday Puppets will perform at 11 a.m. every Wednesday during the summer at the Puppet Playhouse in the post office building in Fairfield Bay. The 45-minute show features Punch and Judy, Dudley the Magnificent Magician and The Cat Came Back shadow puppets. The free family show is open to the public.

Chronic Pain Meeting

CABOT — The Cabot Chapter of the American Chronic Pain Association meets from 6-8 p.m. the first Friday of the month at 15361 Arkansas 5. The association is a nonprofit, self-help group designed to teach people with chronic pain to reduce the impact pain has on their work and personal lives. Certified Nursing Assistant Class

MELBOURNE — Ozarka College is accepting enrollment for its Basic Health Skills class, catered to certified nursing assistants (CNAs). This nine-week college-credit course is available at Ozarka’s four campuses: Melbourne, Ash Flat, Mammoth Spring and Mountain View. The class meets twice per week, with two clinicals during the term. Students who take the class and at least one other college course are eligible to apply for financial aid and have the opportunity to be admitted into the Certified Nursing Assistant Program. ASU-Newport New Summer Hours

NEWPORT — The hours of operation for Arkansas State University-Newport have shifted to a summer schedule. ASU-Newport’s campuses in Newport, Jonesboro and Marked Tree will be open from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday through Aug. 7. With the exception of White River Hall on the Newport campus, all offices and locations of ASUN will be closed Fridays. ASU-Newport will resume normal operating hours Aug. 11. Events that are already scheduled to take place on Fridays during the summer will still be held.

Ozarka Kids Academy Summer Enrollment

MELBOURNE — Ozarka Kids Academy at Ozarka College in Melbourne is enrolling students for the School-Age Summer Program for students 6-9 years old. The cost is $80 per week, and the 10-week program will start Monday and run through Aug. 8. Students will engage in curriculum designed to their interests and ability. Ozarka Kids Academy hours are 7 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Monday through Friday. Students will receive meals and snacks within U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines. Donation Collection

WARD — The Ward Public Library is accepting donations for residents of areas in White County affected by the April 27 tornado. The library is accepting cleaning supplies, bottled water, nonperishable food items, work gloves, paper products, toiletries and gift cards. For patrons who bring in an overdue library item with a donation, the fine on the item will be waived.

Bookshop’s New Hours

HEBER SPRINGS — The Friends of the Library Book Shop, 2255 Arkansas 25B N., will now be open from 3:30-7 p.m. Mondays. The shop is also open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays. The shop offers a large selection of books at bargain prices. All proceeds from the shop benefit the libraries in Cleburne County, including the new library in Quitman.

Second Time Around Bookstore

SEARCY — The Literacy Council of White County operates the Second Time Around Bookstore at 109 E. Center in downtown Searcy. Proceeds from the sale of donated books support the mission of helping adults in the community improve their literacy and English-language skills. Cabot Community Coalition Meeting

CABOT — The Cabot Community Coalition, a group of organizations in the Cabot area that provide assistance to those in need, meets at noon the second Thursday of each month at the Diner Restaurant on South Second Street. The coalition recently added the Cabot Resource Center, which is open from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1-4 p.m. Mondays at 15361 Arkansas 5; and from 9-11 a.m. Thursdays at 114 N. Fulton County Golf Tournament

MELBOURNE — The Ozarka College Foundation will host a four-person-scramble golf tournament at 9 a.m. June 7 at the South Course in Cherokee Village. All proceeds will go to Ozarka College’s Mammoth Spring campus. The entry fee is $300 per team, which includes range balls, use of a golf cart, a light breakfast, lunch, a gift bag and 18 holes of golf. Mulligans will be available for $5 each. Genealogy Workshop

MCRAE — The Lebanon Cemetery will celebrate its 60th Homecoming at 10:55 a.m. June 8 at the cemetery in McRae. The morning events will be followed by a potluck dinner at noon and an afternoon of singing and fellowship. Attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs.

Summer Day Camps

CALICO ROCK — Two Summer Day Camps for students going into first through sixth grades will be offered at the Calico Rock Museum on Main Street. Life as an Artist will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 19. Participants will make tie-dyed shirts, sculpt in clay, make marbles and have explore sand art. Discover Life as a Settler will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 11. Participants will explore the new Homestead in the Coal House exhibit, churn butter, make homemade ice cream, use a spinning wheel, process wool and weave. There is no cost to attend the camps. Davidsonville Day Camps

POCAHONTAS — Two Davidsonville Day Camps, open to kids 8-12 years old, will offer an opportunity to learn about history and nature. Archaeology Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 25-27. Kids will learn about archaeology through activities and games and will dig in the dirt like real archaeologists. Adventure Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 16-18.
