Bryant issues water boil order

The city of Bryant on Friday issued a precautionary boil order for all water customers north of Interstate 30 after a water-main break but lifted the order Saturday.

A break in a 12-inch main caused a loss of water pressure, and the Bryant Water Department has issued the boil notice until a bacteriological survey could show the water is safe to drink, according to a statement from Mayor Jill Dabbs’ office.

City officials expected the boil order to be in place for two to five days, and asked residents to use boiled or bottled water for the purposes of drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, washing dishes, brushing teeth and preparing food while the order was in place.
