HomeStyle: Bathroom remodeling trends

By The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

This article was published May 30, 2014 at 11:14 a.m.

The time when bathrooms were simply for bathing and getting ready to face the day has long past. Homeowners today want spa-like retreats so when they get a chance to remodel an outdated bath, they look for color schemes, fixtures and features that offer comfort, relaxation and luxury.

Top bathroom remodeling trends for 2014 include soothing shades of gray and white, curbless showers, easy-to-clean features, minimalist lines and open spaces, according to the National Kitchen and Bath Association’s 2014 design trend report. This year, the association estimates people will spend $5,000 to $30,000 or more replacing dated fixtures and revitalizing tired color schemes.

See Saturday’s Arkansas Democrat-Gazette HomeStyle section to see what’s popular for remodeling bathrooms.

Spell check doesn't substitute for proofreading. "Past" in first sentence should be "passed."

Thank you, roo. This is one of my pet peeves. While no one is perfect, and especially with my typing, I find it atrocious that newspapers, and even worse, the television news will put up headlines with words that are mispelled or used improperly. If you are going to be in a business that requires use of words, act like a professional, and get them right.
