PARAGOULD — A Paragould gynecologist accused of taking nude photographs of a patient has pleaded innocent to five counts of voyeurism.

Dr. Paul Becton appeared before Circuit Judge Brent Davis on Friday, when he waived formal arraignment and pleaded not guilty to the charges. Davis scheduled a trial date of Sept. 15, with a pretrial hearing set for Sept. 2.

An affidavit says a female patient notified Paragould police that she believed Becton had used a cellphone to take photos of her during an exam. The affidavit alleges that Arkansas State Police investigators found numerous images of nude women on Becton's cellphone, including what appeared to be images of the woman who filed the complaint.
