This May 14, 2014, file photo shows former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton speaking in Washington.

WASHINGTON — Hillary Rodham Clinton defended her handling of the deadly 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya, writing in her new book that she will "not be part of a political slugfest on the backs of dead Americans."

The former secretary of state devotes a chapter in her forthcoming book, Hard Choices, to the Benghazi attack, responding to Republicans who have accused the Obama administration of stonewalling congressional investigators and misleading the public about the nature of the attack in the weeks before the presidential election. Four Americans were killed in the Sept. 11, 2012, attack, including U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens.

"Those who exploit this tragedy over and over as a political tool minimize the sacrifice of those who served our country," Clinton writes in the chapter, which was obtained by Politico.

Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill said that "until the book is released, there's nothing to say. And once it's released, it will speak for itself."

I wish Nixon had said on Watergate, "What difference at this point does it make!"

Just like a liberal to turn it around and make it the fault of the people who want answers. Yes, it's all for political gain that we want to know the truth. Yes, it's all for political gain that the families of those who died want to know why help was given to them. What a big bunch of crock they continue to spew out. Hopefully the special committee will subpoena them all and get to the truth!

So... Claiming this was all caused by a you tube video (that had not been seen yet) is not politicizing it... What is? Next thing you know she will say, that depends on how you define "is"

Sure it is political! Remember 9/11, the administration failed and over 4,000 died.
Benghazi is the republican political pay back. And boy has it been politicized! How many investigation? How many hearings? In politics, it is never about the issue. Yes, 4 people died. A great loss for America and their families!
But the politics is more about oil in Canada.

In the summer of 2006 the weapons of mas destruction hysteria was collapsing now in the summer of 2014 the Obamacare hysteria is collapsing and what the G.O.P. has left are the old worn out milk cows of Benghazi and I.R.S. but after two years of being milked will Benghazi go dry for the G.O.P.?

I think I will change my name to Ben Gazzi.. Then nobody will ever be able to find me. Not the IRS, CIA nor the FBI. I will just be able to vanish!!

I don't know who all was at fault, but it is shameful that our military was never even sent.

I'd like to see a congressional investigation of the Downing Street Memo. Was the intelligence fixed to fit the policy?

"Those who exploit this tragedy over and over as a political tool minimize the sacrifice of those who served our country," Wow, Hillary really is worried about Benghazi. She usually reserves this kind of rhetoric for defending Bill (recall what she said about those Bimbo eruptions and the vast right-wing conspiracy). Obama and Hillary minimized the sacrifice when they shamelessly used the "video as cause" line purely for political purposes so as to deflect from Obama's lie that he had terrorists on the run. Sure, they were on the run all right. They were running straight to that compound in Benghazi to kill Americans and poke a stick in America's eye on the anniversary of 9-11. You and BH made it political, Mrs. Clinton, now you must deal with the consequences.
