Work to shut lanes on I-30/I-40 and Cantrell Road

Lane closures are planned next week on Interstates 30 and 40 in central Arkansas and along a stretch of Cantrell Road in Little Rock.

The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said the interstate lane closures would occur at night from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday. At least one lane will remain open as crews conduct pavement tests in both directions and the shoulders between the interchange of I-30, Interstate 530 and Interstate 440 in Little Rock and the I-40-U.S. 67 interchange in North Little Rock, the agency said.

On Cantrell Road, one westbound lane will be closed while workers resurface a mile of the roadway between Allsopp Park Road and Jackson Street, a stretch that includes Cantrell Hill. The eastbound side of the street was resurfaced last year. That work will occur between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

The highway department says all of the work is weather-permitting. Motorists are asked to use caution in work zones.
