Razor Rail drops fans at stadium

PIG TRAIL vs. PIG RAIL: Razor Rail is a new travel option for those in downtown Rogers wishing to journey to Fayetteville to catch the University of Arkansas football game Nov. 15. The new service, offered on A&M Railroad, begins Nov. 15 with the game against Louisiana State University and includes a round-trip fare with snacks and beverages for $40 per person (game tickets not included). After making a short transfer, the train's passengers will arrive at the gates of Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. On the return trip to Rogers, passengers will be dropped off near their vehicles downtown.

WHAT'S OLD IS NEW: The recently chartered General Society of the War of 1812 in the State of Arkansas is the first men's lineage group in Arkansas to recognize the veterans of the War of 1812. The new society joins forces with the Arkansas State Society for the U.S. Daughters of 1812, established in 1908. The group is open to any men who have a direct ancestor (adoption accepted) who served in the War of 1812 or was the sibling (of either sex) of such an American combatant. Those inducted before Dec. 15 (the 200th anniversary of the Battle of New Orleans) will be considered charter members. The group meets quarterly and next meets March 2015 in Little Rock. Those interested in joining can contact EuGene Smith at bigusmith@yahoo.com.

THE ART OF SUCCESS: The online website Artnet includes Arkansas' Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville in its recent list of "The 25 Must-See Museum Shows Around the World." The list begins with the exhibit "State of the Art: Discovering American Art Now" at Crystal Bridges. The exhibit runs through Jan. 19.
