'Prepare for Hell'

Rock band Slipknot, on its "Prepare for Hell" tour with Korn and King 810, will headline a concert at 7 p.m. today at North Little Rock's Verizon Arena.

Cherokee jurist

Troy Wayne Poteete, executive director of the National Trail of Tears Association and a justice of the Cherokee Nation Supreme Court, will discuss how modern Cherokees draw inspiration from their ancestors' experience along the so-called Trail of Tears in the 1830s for the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies' monthly Legacies and Lunch, noon Wednesday at the Ron Robinson Theater, 100 River Market Ave., Little Rock.

The Clinton School of Public Service is the co-host, supported in part by the Arkansas Humanities Council. Admission is free. Take a sack lunch; the Butler Center will provide drinks and dessert. Play on film

The Broadway revival of John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men, with James Franco and Chris O'Dowd, filmed at Broadway's Longacre Theatre in front of an audience, will be on the big screen at Little Rock's Breckenridge Village 12 in Little Rock at 7 p.m. Thursday.
