Mulberry man sentenced in sexual assault case

VAN BUREN — A man from Northwest Arkansas has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexually assaulting a female relative.

The Southwest Times Record reported that the 38-year-old from Mulberry man pleaded guilty Wednesday to 10 counts of first-degree sexual assault and one count of incest. The Associated Press isn't naming the man to protect the identity of the victim.

A Crawford County judge sentenced him to prison for one count and he received suspended sentences on the other charges.

A relative of the victim set up a webcam and recorded the man assaulting the girl after discovering a letter he had written to the girl. The victim, who is now an adult, told authorities she had been manipulated. It's unclear how they are related.
