BUSINESS DINNER

UCA speaker series helps entrepreneurial students

Supporters of the John W. Allison Entrepreneurial Speaker series at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway gathered at the university's McCastlain Hall on Nov. 6 to refill the till, as it were. Before dining, guests mingled at a reception with Allison, chairman of the board of Home Bancshares Inc., and Gov. Mike Beebe, who spoke at the dinner.

The speaker series, which features Arkansans, is for select students who have distinguished themselves in business by their entrepreneurialism.

Money raised will be used to provide a salary supplement for the support of a full-time faculty position in the UCA College of Business in teaching entrepreneurship or finance, said UCA president Tom Courtway. The person chosen will also be responsible for administering the speaker series through the College of Business.
