A 62-year-old woman died early Friday in a fire that started at her home outside North Little Rock.
Pulaski County sheriff's office spokesman Lt. Carl Minden said the body of Glenda Stillwell was found after authorities responded to a fire at 5325 Roundtop Drive.
According to a sheriff's office report, crews were called about 12:30 a.m. and found the south end of the trailer engulfed in flames.
Stillwell's husband, who was outside, told authorities he and his wife were in the bedroom when the fire started and that he left the room to call 911 but was unable to return to it because of the smoke, the report said. He then went outside to seek help.
The first-arriving firefighter made entry to the side of the house that was not engulfed in flames but determined Stillwell was in the other end of the structure. Her body was later recovered, Minden said.
Stillwell's husband told investigators he believed the fire was caused by an electric heater. Minden said the official cause hasn't been determined, though the fire is not considered suspicious.
The home is a total loss.
