LR man arrested in woman's shooting death

A Little Rock man was arrested and charged with second-degree murder Tuesday over accusations he shot and killed a woman, police say.

Little Rock police responded to a shooting at 3901 S. University Ave. about 11:42 p.m. Monday.

Officers found Kathryn Pawlak, 48, in the parking lot, and she was taken to UAMS Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead about 4 a.m. Tuesday.

Michael DeCarlo, 50, was taken into custody and interviewed, and “based on the interview of DeCarlo and other factors, investigators felt they had enough information to charge him" with second-degree murder, Little Rock Police Department Lt. Sidney Allen said in an email.

DeCarlo is being held at the Pulaski County jail with bail not yet set.
