Gunman tries to rob Dollar General, leaves without cash

A man with a gun attempted to hold up a Little Rock Dollar General Tuesday night, but he ended up fleeing without cash when an employee said she couldn't open the register, police said.

According to a Little Rock Police Department report, the would-be robber entered the store at 9500 Satterfield Drive shortly before 9 p.m. and pointed a gun when a clerk asked him to remove his hoodie.

Police say the man demanded cash from the clerk but then called for a second employee when the first one said she didn't have any money. The second employee said she did not have keys to the register and the man left, fleeing north from the business, the report said.

Police searched the area but did not make any arrests.

The assailant is described as a black man who wore all black and a cold-weather mask over his face. He stood about 6-feet tall and weighed around 140 pounds.
