Paul Mitchell defeated incumbent Michelle Hobbs in Tuesday's runoff election for the mayor of Alexander. Mitchell received 130 votes to Hobbs' 46 votes in Saline County. In Pulaski County, where a portion of Alexander also lies, Hobbs received 31 votes and Mitchell received none. A list of runoff results in Wednesday's paper included incorrect totals for the race.
The Central Arkansas Library System will be closed today, Friday and Sunday. All branches will be open during normal hours on Saturday. A list of Thanksgiving-related closings in Wednesday's newspaper incorrectly reported what days the library would be closed.
