Camp Robinson sets 446-acre burn

The Arkansas National Guard will conduct a controlled burn at Camp Robinson in North Little Rock today from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

About 446 acres will be burned in the northwestern section of the post to provide a "buffer zone" to prevent the spread of accidental fires caused by military training operations.

Officials predict that smoke will be visible along Interstate 40 between Morgan and Mayflower and along Arkansas 89 south of Lake Conway.
