Human Services deputy director to resign after 16 years with department

The deputy director of the Arkansas Department of Human Services announced Wednesday that she will leave the department later this month.

Janie Huddleston of Little Rock, who has worked with the department since 1998, is resigning effective Oct. 24 to work with the nonprofit organization Zero to Three, which provides parents, professionals and policymakers resources to nurture early-childhood development, a department news release states.

Huddleston will serve as the nonprofit's project director for the Quality Improvement Center for Research-Based Infant-Toddler Court Teams.

Huddleston oversees efforts to identify and retain high-performing employees within the Human Services department, according to the release.
