Heber Springs Business Expo

HEBER SPRINGS — The Heber Springs Area Chamber of Commerce will host its 12th annual Business Expo from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Heber Springs Community Center. The public is invited. The theme is Rev Up Your Business, and exhibitors are encouraged to decorate their booths to reflect the theme. Live entertainment will be featured, and each exhibitor will have a prize drawing for attendees, who may also register for grand-prize drawings at the chamber booth. Think-Love-Act Semiannual Event

CONWAY — Think-Love-Act will host its semiannual event The Fishbowl at 7 p.m. at the Brewer-Hegeman Conference center at the University of Central Arkansas. The event, an interactive panel format, will focus on “What It Means to be Human” in Conway and central Arkansas. Participants will have an opportunity to engage with each other and law enforcement officials on topics such as violence, racial profiling and law enforcement relationships with minority communities. Panelists will include John Miller, sociology professor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock; Conway Police Chief A.J. Gary; Faulkner County Sheriff Andy Shock; Faulkner County Judge-elect Troy Braswell; Faulkner County NAACP Chairman Charles Holloway; and the Rev. Anthony Hendricks of the Mosaic Church of Conway. Human Rights Celebration

CONWAY — Church Women United of Faulkner County will hold a Human Rights Celebration at 10 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 2400 Prince St. The theme is “Through God, Our Hands Can Protect.” This service gives the opportunity to celebrate and honor individuals who have been active in the field of human rights. Rotary Club Fundraiser Cancellation

HEBER SPRINGS — The Rotary Club of Heber Springs’ roasted-pork-butts fundraiser has been canceled. The event will be rescheduled after the first of the year.

Walk to Remember Registration

CONWAY — Registration is open for the sixth annual Conway Regional Walk to Remember, a free event to help families remember an infant who died before or shortly after delivery. The event will be held Oct. 11 at Conway High School’s John McConnell Football Stadium. The Conway Regional Perinatal Bereavement program sponsors the walk. Splash Pad Fall Schedule

CONWAY — Party With a Purpose, a benefit for the Children’s Advocacy Alliance, a partnership of the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of the 20th Judicial District and the Central Arkansas Children’s Advocacy Center, will be held Oct. 9 at the Brick Room. Musical guests will be Tragikly White. Plumerville Homecoming

PLUMERVILLE — All Plumerville residents, former residents, graduates and former students of the Plumerville School are invited to attend the 2014 Homecoming Reunion on Oct. 10 and 11. Tri County Art Show

CONWAY — The Conway League of Artists will sponsor its largest exhibition of the year, The Tri County Art Show, from Oct. 11 through Nov. 8 at the Faulkner County Library. This exhibit is open to artists living in Conway, Faulkner or Perry counties. Prize money totaling $1,525 will be awarded in five categories: oil/acrylic, water-based media, photography/computer-generated art, 3-D installations, drawing and mixed media. Entry forms can be obtained from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 11 during the acceptance of art work. The entry fee is $25 per three entries for members, and $45 per three entries for nonmembers.
