Head-on collision kills both drivers in Greene County

Both drivers were killed early Wednesday when one vehicle crossed the center line and hit another head-on in Greene County, authorities said.

It happened about 2:30 a.m. on Arkansas 49 south of Marmaduke.

According to an Arkansas State Police report, Andrew Paul Mross, 29, of Paragould, was driving a 2005 Hyundai south on the highway when it veered across the line and hit a northbound 1999 Kia head-on.

Mross and the Kia driver, 25-year-old Adam Gore Wheeler of Rector, died at the scene.

The report didn't indicate what may have caused the Hyundai to cross the center line. Conditions at the time were said to be clear and dry.

The deaths were the 341st and 342nd in traffic crashes in Arkansas so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
