Hill announces endorsements from U.S. Chamber, small-business group

Republican French Hill on Tuesday announced endorsements from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the National Federation of Independent Business in his race for U.S. Congress.

Hill, who faces Democrat Patrick Henry Hays in the 2nd District, said in a statement he was also endorsed Tuesday by former Democratic state senator and current president of Riggs CAT, John Riggs.

Rob Engstrom, political director for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, said in the statement Hill is needed "in Congress to push back against the Obama agenda and jump-start our economy." Lisa Goeas, vice president of the NFIB, meanwhile, called Hill "the clear pro-small business candidate."

The NFIB on Tuesday also endorsed Republican Asa Hutchinson in his race against Democrat Mike Ross for governor.
