Fight at LR club leaves 1 man dead

A Little Rock man died Tuesday after he was hit in the head at a Little Rock club early Sunday morning, police say.

Eric Davis, 25, was with friends at the Big Dawg Motorcycle Club in the 8700 block of Colonel Glenn Road around 3 a.m., when a fight broke out, Little Rock Police Department Sgt. Cassandra Davis said in an email.

Witnesses told detectives that Eric Davis was standing in the parking lot when a man struck him in the head, causing him to fall and hit his head on the concrete.

He was taken to CHI St. Vincent Infirmary for his injuries and was put on life support for head trauma, police said.

Investigators determined that Mario Jones, 27, of Little Rock was the person who purportedly hit Eric Davis, according to Sgt. Davis.

Officers called Jones and witnesses to come into the police department after the fight.

Eric Davis died at the hospital at 9:29 p.m. Tuesday.

The investigation is ongoing, and the case will be sent to the prosecuting attorney’s office for a file decision, Sgt. Davis said.
