Tavern's 'One for the Goose' to pay tribute to late owner

"Hard Work and Plenty of It: One for Goose" is what they're calling the celebration Saturday of the life of Larry "Goose" Garrison, longtime owner of the White Water Tavern, who died in his sleep Sept. 20.

The festivities will get underway at 5 p.m. Participating musicians will include Adam Faucett, the Amy Garland Band, Go Fast, Mojo Depot, Weakness for Blondes, Iron Tongue, Brother Andy, Mandy McBryde, Pockets and the Sideshow Tragedy. There is no cover charge, but donations will be accepted for a music scholarship in Garrison's name.

Tonight, the club will host Bobgoblin, with Brothers & Company the opening act at 9:30 p.m. Cover charge is $5. John Paul Keith will perform at 9:30 p.m. Friday. Admission is $7.

The Youngest will perform Sunday night with Ache Water opening at 7:30 p.m. Cover charge is $5.

The Blow Baby Blow Big Horn Extravaganza will erupt at 8:30 p.m. today at the Rev Room. Participating acts include Rodney Block, Tonia Leeks, Phillip Mouton, Guido Ritchie, Emanuel "Tiko" Brooks and Matt Schatz. Tickets are $10 general admission, $15 reserved upper seating, and $20 for VIP and balcony seating.

The Tragikly White Band plays at 9:30 p.m. Friday. Admission is $10.

The Not Your American Idol Tour will stop off at 8 p.m. Sunday. For All Those Sleeping and Capture the Crown will headline; opening acts are Ice Nine Kills, Youth in Revolt, Myka, Relocate and Palisades. Tickets are $13 in advance, $15 day of show.

Goddamn Gallows, a punk/bluegrass band from Michigan, headlines, with blues act Zach and Big Papa Binns opening at 9 p.m. Friday at Maxine's in Hot Springs. Admission is $10.

Saturday's 9 p.m. lineup will include three groups: Casual Pleasures, an experimental rock band; psychedelic rockers Landrest; and Texas rock group Switchblade Razors. Admission is $5.
