Trains nearly repaired after collision

WINSLOW — An Arkansas & Missouri Railroad spokesman says two trains involved in a crash that injured more than a dozen people could soon be up and running again.

Ron Sparks told KHOG-TV that the engines are in a repair shop but could be operational as early as Thursday.

A freight train collided with a sight-seeing passenger train in Northwest Arkansas on Oct. 16. A National Transportation Safety Board member said the freight train was coming to help the stalled passenger train.
