Siberian throat singers

Alash Ensemble, a trio of master throat singers from Tuva, Siberia, will put on two Arkansas concerts this weekend:

Eagles tribute show

'Classical Masters'

The Pine Bluff Symphony and conductor Charles Jones Evans will open their 28th season with a program titled "The Classical Masters," 4 p.m. Sunday at the Pine Bluff Convention Center Auditorium, 500 E. Eighth Ave., Pine Bluff. Pianist Hee-Kyung Juhn, on the faculty at Henderson State University, will be the soloist in the Piano Concerto No. 5, "Emperor," by Ludwig van Beethoven. The program will include the Overture to The Marriage of Figaro by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the Symphony No. 94, "Surprise," by Franz Joseph Haydn. Prokofiev and Mahler

Yevgeny Yontov will play the Piano Concerto No. 3 by Sergei Prokofiev and Twyla Robinson will be the soprano soloist in Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 4 with the South Arkansas Symphony and conductor Kermit Poling, 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the El Dorado Municipal Auditorium, 100 W. 'Mac-O-Lanterns'

Bring your inner pumpkin carving talents to Little Rock's MacArthur Park, on East Ninth Street, Saturday for "Mac-O-Lanterns!", a new benefit for the park. Carving for pre-registered pumpkins, painting for walk-ins, takes place 3-6 p.m., with judging at 6 (top cash prize is $500) and candles lighted 6:24-8 p.m. Food trucks -- Southern Gourmasian, Cheto's and Loblolly Creamery -- and Stone's Throw Brewing will sell food and beverages from 5-8 p.m. Admission is $5, free for children 12 and younger. Volunteers field band

'Dreamscapes'

Organist Jason A. Pennington and mezzo-soprano Tonya Thompson will give a concert titled "Autumnal Dreamscapes," described as "an evening of music selected to inspire introspection, dreams and seasonal catharsis," at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 4106 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock. It's part of the St. Luke's Festival of the Senses.

Organ works include "The War March of Priests" from Athalia by Felix Mendelssohn; Sonate I by Paul Hindemith; the Toccata and Fugue in d minor, BWV 565, by Johann Sebestian Bach; an arrangement of the "Adagio for Strings" from the String Quartet, op.11, by Samuel Barber, Suite Gothique by Leon Boellmann; and the Fantasie and Andante for Musical Clock in f minor, K. 608, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Thompson will sing "The Black Swan" from The Medium by Gian Carlo Menotti and "Apres un Reve," the first of the Trois Melodies, op.7 No. 1, by Gabriel Faure.

The pipes are calling

The Lyon College Pipe Band will perform at 7 p.m. Friday at the Ron Robinson Theater, 100 River Market Ave., Little Rock. Career fair for vets

The MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History, 503 E. Ninth St., Little Rock, will host a Veteran Career Fair for veterans, active duty, National Guard and military reserve members and military spouses. This event will be a free hiring fair for employers and job seekers, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.
