Man, 46, arrested in 2 bank robberies

Police Tuesday arrested a suspect in two bank robberies in the Little Rock area.

Little Rock Police arrested Bobby Ford, 46, of 10 Torey Pine Drive in Little Rock, after an off-duty detective spotted a green sedan matching the description of the vehicle used in the Monday robbery of the U.S. Bank branch at 11402 W. Markham St.

The detective contacted uniformed patrol officers, who initiated a traffic stop on Ford, according to a statement issued by Little Rock police spokesman Lt. Sidney Allen. Ford fled in the vehicle, driving to his home, before abandoning the vehicle and fleeing on foot, according to the statement. Officers apprehended Ford after a brief foot chase.

On the basis of statements from Ford and witnesses, detectives placed Ford under arrest in the Monday robbery, as well as the Oct. 15 robbery of the U.S. Bank branch at 6004 Baseline Road.

He was being held without bail Wednesday at the Pulaski County jail.

NLR police charge 2 men in meth bust

North Little Rock police arrested two men Wednesday on allegations they tried to sell methamphetamine to undercover officers, according to arrest reports.

Wesley Douglass, 36, and Phillip Raborn, 35, were arrested about 10:05 a.m. at East McCain Boulevard and Smokey Lane. Raborn is accused of driving Douglass there so Douglass could sell a half-ounce of methamphetamine for $750, police said.

According to police, an undercover officer arranged the purchase via phone.

Police reported finding a digital scale in Raborn's vehicle. He was charged with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. Raborn, of Little Rock, was not listed on the Pulaski County jail roster late Wednesday.

Douglass, of Benton, was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent, possession of drug paraphernalia and three counts of use of a communication device in the commission of a felony. He was being held at the jail without bail.

Stolen phone's GPS leads to 2 suspects

Two men entered a home and robbed several residents at gunpoint Wednesday, and two suspects were arrested after Little Rock police located them by tracking a stolen phone's GPS.

The robbery occurred at 2305 Cumberland St., according to police. Officers tracked one victim's iPhone about 3.5 miles west to an apartment at 3503 W. 11th St.

Residents told police that Timothy Bush, 27, and Stephon Eason, 20, had showed up before officers' arrival and hid some items in the apartment, the report says.

Bush and Eason were arrested at the apartment about 3:30 p.m. They were each charged with aggravated residential burglary, 10 counts of aggravated robbery and 10 counts of theft of property.

Both men were being held in the Pulaski County jail without bail late Wednesday.

Safe heist foiled; two face charges

Police arrested a man and a woman Tuesday evening in connection with an attempt to steal money from a Little Rock gas station.

Little Rock police arrested Leonard Scott, 25, of 7900 S. Hamilton Drive in Little Rock, and Latoya Shakice Eggerson, 19, of 1521 Hidden Creek Drive in Sherwood, after an employee at the Exxon gas station at 7700 Scott Hamilton Road said the two tried to steal about $200 from the store safe.

Scott was being held Wednesday in the Pulaski County jail on charges of breaking or entering, criminal attempt, obstructing governmental operations and possession of a controlled substance, and was awaiting extradition to Broward County, Fla.

Eggerson was being held in the jail in lieu of $2,500 bond on charges of breaking or entering and criminal attempt.
