UA student says raped on campus

A 19-year-old University of Arkansas at Fayetteville student told police that she was raped by an acquaintance at a university residence hall.

UA police received the report Tuesday. The woman told police that the rape took place between 10 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Monday at the Northwest Quad residence facility, said Capt. Gary Crain of the UA Police Department.

"I would not describe it as a dating relationship, but the two people knew each other and had known each other since the beginning of school," Crain said, describing the accused man as a 23-year-old UA student.

Crain said Thursday that no arrest had been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
