Ward woman arrested in credit card theft

A Ward woman was arrested Friday after she purportedly used a credit card that wasn't hers, police say.

Austin Police Department Chief Jim Kulesa said police received a report of a lost or stolen credit card on Sunday, which prompted an investigation.

Kulesa said a customer turned the credit card over to Deanna Hubbard, 25, on Oct. 14 at the Jordan’s Kwik Stop in Austin, where she was working until Monday.

Hubbard purportedly used the credit card at the service station and Wal-Mart in Beebe, according to police. She was arrested Friday and will be charged with felony theft and four counts of fraudulent use of a credit card.

Kulesa said more charges could be forthcoming after the case is investigated by Beebe police.
