— Arkansas had respite from its grueling Southeastern Conference schedule Saturday.

The Razorbacks beat UAB 45-17 during the university's Homecoming game at Razorback Stadium. Arkansas (4-4) broke a three-game losing streak and exceeded its total number of wins from last season.

Jonathan Williams scored a pair of first half touchdowns to help the Razorbacks build a 35-0 halftime lead. Williams scored on a 3-yard run to cap Arkansas' first drive and added a 17-yard touchdown reception from Brandon Allen on the first play of the second quarter.

Williams finished the game with 153 rushing yards on 18 carries. It was the second consecutive game and fourth time this season Williams has rushed for more than 100 yards.

Alex Collins and Kody Walker also had touchdown runs in the first half, and offensive lineman Sebastian Tretola threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to long snapper Alan D'Appollonio after the Razorbacks had lined up for a field goal.

Arkansas extended its lead to 38-0 on a 49-yard field goal by Adam McFain early in the third quarter. After the Razorbacks had extra-point attempts blocked the last two games, McFain was perfect in six tries during his first start.

UAB got on the scoreboard with a 47-yard field goal by Ty Long midway through the third quarter. Arkansas extended its lead to 45-3 on a 15-yard touchdown pass from Allen to tight end Jeremy Sprinkle, but J.J. Nelson returned the ensuing kickoff 100 yards for the Blazers' first touchdown.

The Blazers (4-4) scored their only offensive touchdown on a 33-yard pass from Jeremiah Briscoe to Nyikki Height with 42 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.

The Razorbacks recorded 484 yards of total offense, but only 138 yards after halftime. Arkansas held UAB to just 195 yards of total offense.

Allen completed 15 of 24 passes for 205 yards in just short of three quarters of playing time. Austin Allen, the starter's younger brother, failed to complete his only pass attempt.

Collins added 82 rushing yards on 15 carries for the Razorbacks.

Arkansas will travel to No. 1 Mississippi State next Saturday.
