BUCCANEERS

McCoy contract extended

TAMPA BAY -- Defensive tackle Gerald McCoy has signed a seven-year extension with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers worth $98 million, making McCoy the highest-paid player at his position.

McCoy, a 2013 All-Pro, will get $51.5 million guaranteed, the most ever given to a defensive tackle in NFL history. His new deal will average $14 million per year.

Including his current salary for 2014, McCoy would make $111 million over the eight-year period.

The deal was concluded Saturday by McCoy's agent, Ben Dogra, and Buccaneers General Manager Jason Licht.

McCoy is in his fifth NFL season and comes off his best year, when he had 9 1/2 sacks and 35 tackles. He is considered the anchor of Tampa Bay's rebuilding defense.

The Buccaneers (1-5) have struggled, allowing 204 points, the most in the league. But McCoy is among the league's best defensive tackles, often drawing double teams. He has played part of this season with a cast on his broken left hand.

LIONS

Mosley suspended

LONDON -- The Detroit Lions suspended defensive tackle C.J. Mosley for two weeks and sent him home from London on Saturday for conduct detrimental to the team and an unspecified violation of team rules, the team announced in a statement.

Mosley was placed on the reserve/suspended list and will be reinstated after next week's bye.

The Lions signed safety Jerome Couplin off the practice squad to take Mosley's place.

Mosley, who signed a two-year free-agent deal with the Lions (5-2) last offseason, has been a key backup on the NFL's No. 1 defense this fall.

He has 11 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks in seven games, and is the Lions' only experienced defensive tackle to spell starters Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley.

Rookie fifth-round pick Caraun Reid will play as the No. 3 tackle today against the Atlanta Falcons at Wembley Stadium, and defensive end Jason Jones plays inside some in pass-rush situations. Reid has just two tackles in limited action this year.

TITANS

RB Greene arrested

FRANKLIN, Tenn. -- Tennessee Titans running back Shonn Greene was arrested for allegedly parking in a handicapped space and speeding away when an officer was issuing a citation.

Greene surrendered to police Friday night after being told warrants had been obtained for his arrest, said Franklin, Tenn., police Sgt. Charles Warner.

The matter could have been ended with a simple parking ticket but now Greene faces multiple charges, Warner said.

The veteran running back was charged with driving on a suspended license, reckless driving, failure to stop/halt/frisk and illegal parking, Warner said. Greene was released on $2,000 bond and is due in court Nov. 13.

The parking enforcement officer was issuing the citation Friday afternoon on the Public Square in Franklin when Greene approached, Warner said. Greene ignored the officer's request to see a handicapped placard, got into his 2012 BMW M6 and sped away, nearly striking the officer, he said.

When Greene was forced to stop due to traffic, the officer approached him again to issue the parking ticket, Warner said. Greene sped away again, he said.

Greene is second on the Titans in rushing this season, with 190 yards on 44 carries and one touchdown. He missed the past two games with a hamstring injury.

RAVENS

Supernaw moves up

BALTIMORE -- The Ravens have promoted tight end Phillip Supernaw (Ouachita Baptist) from the practice squad to the active roster and cut tight end Ryan Taylor.

Taylor was previously with the Green Bay Packers.

Supernaw is expected to be active today and back up rookie tight end Crockett Gillmore, who's starting his first NFL game with veteran tight end Owen Daniels out after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery.

Supernaw has recovered from a hamstring injury that sidelined him against the Indianapolis Colts. He first signed with the Ravens in May after being cut by the Houston Texans, for which he played under current Ravens offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak.

Supernaw first signed with the Texans in 2012 after going undrafted out of OBU, where he was a four-year starter. He had been on and off Houston's practice squad, playing in one regular-season NFL game with no catches.

Supernaw was released by the Ravens during their final major roster trim before the season. He joined their practice squad and was promoted last month to the active roster before returning to the practice squad.

DOLPHINS

Jordan debuts today

MIAMI -- Defensive end Dion Jordan is set to make his season debut today for the Miami Dolphins after sitting out the first six games without pay for twice violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

The Dolphins announced the lifting of Jordan's roster exemption Saturday and waived receiver Damian Williams. Jordan returned to practice Tuesday, but the Dolphins had declined to say whether he would be activated for today's game at Jacksonville.

Jordan was the third overall pick in the 2013 draft and played in all 16 games as a reserve in his rookie season.

RAIDERS

Hayden off PUP list

ALAMEDA, Calif. -- The Oakland Raiders have activated cornerback DJ Hayden from the physically unable to perform list and promoted defensive end Denico Autry from the practice squad.

The Raiders also placed defensive end LaMarr Woodley and safety Usama Young on season-ending injured reserve Saturday to make room on the roster.

Hayden has been sidelined since sustaining a stress fracture to his right foot in May. He was finally able to start practice earlier this month and will be available for Sunday's game in Cleveland.

Hayden was Oakland's first-round pick in 2013. He played eight games as a rookie with one interception.

Woodley injured his biceps last week, and Young injured his knee.

JAGUARS

Cornerback promoted

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Jaguars have promoted first-year cornerback Peyton Thompson to the 53-man roster from the practice squad and waived receiver Tavarres King.

The Jaguars need Thompson for depth since starter Alan Ball (biceps) has been ruled out for today's game against Miami and fellow cornerback Dwayne Gratz is listed as questionable with a hip flexor injury.

If Gratz can't play, Jacksonville would start second-year players Demetrius McCray and Jeremy Harris. Both were seventh-round draft picks in 2013.

Thompson would back them up. He spent the first seven weeks of the season on Jacksonville's practice squad. An undrafted rookie in 2012, he has spent time with Atlanta, Washington and Chicago.

King was inactive for five games after Jacksonville signed him off Carolina's practice squad.
