Lanes of Interstate 40 to be closed for work

LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department says vegetation control will require the closing of one lane of Interstate 40 in each direction in Lonoke County.

The department said an eastbound and a westbound lane will be closed from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Wednesday, weather permitting. The area is between mile markers 164 and 183 from the Pulaski-Lonoke County line to just west of Carlisle.

The department said crews will be treating invasive plants along the route for vegetation control.
