Grain train, semi-truck collide in Craighead County

A grain train collided with a semi-truck a little before 9 a.m. Thursday in Craighead County, police and fire officials are reporting.

The accident occurred in the Busch Agricultural Resources area near U.S. 49 and County Road 912.

Jonesboro 911 coordinator Jeff Presley said there are no reports from the scene yet; however, no injuries have been reported, and the driver of the semi-truck was alert and responsive when officials spoke to him.

Presley said there were two deputies from the Craighead County sheriff's office as well as a unit from the Brookland Police Department investigating the scene earlier Thursday morning.

No fires or spills were reported, but County Road 912 is blocked leading into the scene, Presley said.
