Dense fog rolls into state's center

A dense fog advisory is in effect Wednesday morning for a swath of the state’s center, the National Weather Service said.

Fog will be dense in some places, including areas east of Harrison to Mount Ida and west of Batesville to Warren, until 9 a.m., the weather service said on its website.

Visibility will be reduced to less than a half-mile at times, which is creating dangerous driving conditions in the hours after sunrise, forecasters said.

Counties under the advisory are Baxter, Boone, Bradley, Calhoun, Clark, Cleburne, Cleveland, Conway, Dallas, Faulkner, Fulton, Garland, Grant, Hot Spring, Independence, Izard, Jefferson, Lonoke, Marion, Montgomery, Ouachita, Perry, Pike, Prairie, Pulaski, Saline, Searcy, Sharp, Stone, Van Buren and White, the weather service said.
