DANCING FOR A CAUSE: University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences employees, patients and supporters have created a video for the Pink Glove Dance Competition, a national video contest held annually to support breast cancer awareness and prevention. The video, featuring dozens of UAMS faculty, staff members and patients dancing to Pharrell Williams' "Happy," was created using mostly phones and iPads.

As of 5 p.m. Friday, UAMS had 6,122 votes and led its competitors in the non-health care organization division of the university category. Votes may be cast through Sept. 23 and are limited to one per day per email account.

The first-place winner receives $10,000 for its chosen charity, and second wins $5,000. The video with the most overall votes wins an additional $5,000. UAMS has chosen 20th Century Club's Hope Lodge, which provides a place for cancer patients receiving treatment in central Arkansas, as its charity.
