Freight-brokerage firm to open facility in Lowell

A national freight-brokerage firm announced Tuesday that it is opening a facility in Lowell, which it says will create about 50 jobs for Arkansans.

Total Quality Logistics plans to invest $250,000 in its new facility, an Arkansas Economic Development Commission news release states. The jobs will mostly be sales positions, and hiring will begin immediately.

“Northwest Arkansas has a strong reputation as a hub for logistics, so it’s only fitting for a company like Total Quality Logistics to be drawn here,” Gov. Mike Beebe said in a statement. “They should have no problem finding the sales force they need among the region’s well-educated workforce."

The company is headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, and was founded in 1997. It has 27 offices in 16 states, including the Arkansas facility, and has more than 2,800 employees.
