Cedarville man arrested in fatal shooting

CEDARVILLE — Crawford County deputies have arrested a Cedarville man on suspicion of second-degree murder in a shooting that was initially called an act of self-defense.

The Southwest Times Record reported that 31-year-old Nathan Rotramel was arrested Tuesday in the Aug. 2 shooting of 41-year-old Brian Fisher. He is being held at the Crawford County jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.

Crawford County Prosecuting Attorney Marc McCune said Rotramel fatally shot Fisher from his bedroom window. Fisher lived down the street. McCune previously said Fisher appeared to be attempting to break into the home.

Authorities haven't released a suspected motive in the shooting.

Crawford County Sheriff Ron Brown said Rotramel didn't resist arrest and a .22-caliber rifle was confiscated.
