UA music tastes: Pop, hip-hop, country

University of Arkansas at Fayetteville students go to bed earlier and like Ben Rector, The Head and the Heart and the Avett Brothers more than students at other schools, according to data released by the music-streaming service Spotify.

Spotify released information about listening habits of students at the 40 U.S. universities that stream the most music, according to the company's website.

Ben Rector's popularity may be partly explained by his history with the university. He was a marketing student in the Sam M. Walton College of Business and played concerts in the Pomfret Hall dormitory, according to a story on the college's website.

Pop music is the most popular genre at the university, followed by hip-hop and country. Country accounts for 20.5 percent of music streamed at the university compared to 10.9 percent on average among the 40 universities studied.
