AARP Driver Safety Program

Spring River Area Chamber Meeting

Lake Charles Clean-Up Day

POWHATAN — A Lake Charles Clean-Up Day will be held Saturday at Lake Charles State Park, 3705 Arkansas 25. Volunteers are asked to meet at the Visitor Center to help staff remove trash from the lake, trails and highways around the park. Informational Rally

SEARCY — The public is invited to attend an informational rally from 2-4 p.m. to learn how the Arkansas Alcoholic Beverage Amendment would affect residents’ voting rights and their communities. Wild Dust

SEARCY — On Sunday, Center on the Square will offer its last performance of Wild Dust, a tale of a late 1800s Wild West town in which the story line follows developments surrounding a fierce dust storm. JACKSONVILLE — The Jacksonville Parks and Recreation Department will host the second annual FestiVille on Sept. 26 and 27 in Dupree Park, 1 Park St. The community event will feature food vendors; a children’s area that includes a rock-climbing wall; canine demonstrations by the Jacksonville Police Department; a British Motoring Club of Arkansas car show; a barbecue cook-off; a fishing derby; registered 1K and 5K run/walks; and a volleyball tournament. Davidsonville Scout Patch Day

POCAHONTAS — Davidsonville Historic State Park will host Scout Patch Day for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts age 8 and older from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 27 at Davidsonville Historic State Park on Arkansas 166, fifteen minutes south of Pocahontas. Scouts will participate in various activities, including archery, land surveying, hiking, and a scavenger hunt through the town site in order to earn the Davidsonville Discovered patch.
