3 arrested in July camper theft

Three people accused of stealing a camper in July were arrested Wednesday in Benton.

Benton Police Department Lt. Kevin Russell said the camper, valued at about $25,000, was stolen July 13 from Gilbert Auto Sales, located at 1508 W. Sevier St. in Benton.

Detectives were given information about the stolen Palomino Puma Camper on Wednesday. 

“Detectives were able to set up an undercover sting to purchase the camper later [Wednesday evening] from two suspects,” Russell said in a news release. 

The men who had the camper were identified as Justin Caple, 37, of Benton and Justin Bramlett, 35, of Saline County. They were taken into custody, and Bramlett was found to be in possession of “suspected methamphetamine” and drug paraphernalia, Russell said. 

Kristen Morris, 34, also of Saline County was identified as a co-conspirator in the case based on information given to authorities from Caple and Bramlett. 

Caple and Morris were charged with theft by receiving, and Bramlett was charged with theft by receiving, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

None of those arrested were listed on the Saline County jail inmate roster as of Friday afternoon.
