Hear them roar

There are seven new shows with strong female leads this fall to go along with a number of returning shows. Here's a handy list of the newbies:

Madam Secretary (CBS). Tea Leoni is a no-nonsense secretary of state.

The Mysteries of Laura (NBC). Debra Messing as a brilliant police detective and mom to twins.

How to Get Away With Murder (ABC). Viola Davis is a fierce lawyer and feared law professor.

Bad Judge (NBC). Kate Walsh is a judge by day and wild child by night.

Cristela (ABC). Cristela Alonzo plays an ambitious law student in a traditional Hispanic family.

Jane the Virgin (The CW). Gina Rodriguez is a devout virgin who is accidentally impregnated.

State of Affairs (NBC). Katherine Heigl plays a kick-butt CIA analyst.
