Resurfacing work on Interstate 530 will require lane closures in Pulaski County in the months ahead, according to the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department.
Crews have begun resurfacing 8.4 miles of I-530 from Bingham Road northward to Interstate 30.
Northbound and southbound travel lanes will be limited to one lane periodically for the duration of the project. The lane closures will be between mile marker 0.5 and mile marker 8 and be in effect 24 hours a day as crews work day and night shifts.
In addition, crews will work on four bridges, installing a wire-rope safety fence along the 8-mile length of the project.
Redstone Construction Group of Little Rock was awarded the contract at $65,144,702.59. Estimated completion of the work is expected in late 2015.
