A 71-year-old Waldo woman was killed Monday after her car hit a truck's trailer in Columbia County, authorities said.
Linda Joyce Morgan was driving a 2014 Buick east on U.S. 82 near Columbia County Road 150 shortly after 2:30 p.m. when her car collided with the left rear trailer of a westbound Mack truck, according to an Arkansas State Police report.
Morgan died at the scene. The truck driver wasn't hurt.
It wasn't clear what caused the collision. Conditions at the time were said to be clear and dry.
The death was the 319th fatality in a traffic crash in Arkansas so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
