• Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker Michael Moore no longer will serve on the Michigan Film Office Advisory Council. Republican Gov. Rick Snyder has named a suburban Detroit businessman to replace Moore, who had joined the council as an appointee of then-Gov. Jennifer Granholm, a Democrat. Snyder announced Thursday he was renominating a second council member whose term expires along with Moore's. The governor said advertising executive Bill Ludwig will remain on the 14-member board, while Ted Serbinski will become a new member. Serbinski works with Detroit Venture Partners and is a former director of technology for A&E Television. Their 4-year terms expire in 2018. Moore won an Academy Award for the 2002 documentary Bowling for Columbine. Other Moore films include Roger & Me, Fahrenheit 9/11, Sicko and Capitalism: A Love Story.

• Actor Larry Hagman has been memorialized in bronze in his Texas hometown. The actor most famous for playing J.R. Ewing on the TV show Dallas was remembered Sunday in Weatherford --about 25 miles west of Fort Worth -- on what would have been his 83rd birthday with the unveiling of a life-size statue on the grounds of the Doss Heritage and Culture Center. Mayor Dennis Hooks said Hagman, who died in 2012, is Weatherford's "favorite son." The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported that Hagman's daughter, Kristina, was among hundreds to attend the unveiling ceremony on Larry Hagman Day. She said the world knows about Texas in a way it never had because a son of Weatherford "brought understanding of what the essence of being a Texan is."

Pink Floyd's new album will arrive Nov. 10. A Monday news release provided details about The Endless River, the British rock 'n' roll group's first new material in 20 years. The 18-song double album features band members David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright, who died in 2008. Roger Waters left the group in 1985 and isn't involved. The album was assembled from 20 hours of material recorded during the band's 1993 sessions for The Division Bell. Gilmour said in the release that the band "added new parts, rerecorded others and generally harnessed studio technology to make a 21st century Pink Floyd album." The Endless River consists mostly of instrumental music with just one song, "Louder Than Words," that includes new lyrics, written by Gilmour's wife, Polly Samson.
