In the pink: The Komen Race for the Cure may look a little different this year, with changes to the route and some race-related activities, but it's still going to be a huge sea of pink on Oct. 4. The race starts at Capitol Avenue and Arch Street in Little Rock. The competitive run starts at 7:30 a.m. with the 5K run/walk at 8 a.m. and the family 2K at 8:20. The Survivor Breakfast, Kids for the Cure, Survivor Parade and the new Survivor After Party are also planned for race day. Registration is $35 for competitive runners, $25 for others. Next month

In the muck: The filthiest run around returns as participants run, walk, frolic and flail through the Mud Run, 9:02 a.m. Oct. 25 at Two Rivers Park on County Farm Road in Pulaski County. There will be the usual obstacles and, of course, the 300-foot mud pit. Registration in advance is $20 without a T-shirt, $25 with; race-day registration is 7:32-8:45 a.m. and fees increase to $25 and $35. Call (501) 371-4639 or visit mudrun.org.
