UA's onine school looks to hire 4 more

Four positions are being advertised for the new University of Arkansas online university set to enroll its first students in the fall of next year.

The eVersity is looking to hire two assistant directors, an “instructional designer” and an adviser.

The eVersity also is seeking bids for marketing services.

The more than 350,000 Arkansans who have completed some college are the “initial target audience” for the eVersity, according to a document in UA’s responses to questions from potential bidders offering marketing services. Another goal is to expand the brand “regionally and beyond” within three years, the document states.

Faculty members at UA campuses will teach courses offered through the eVersity, UA System leaders have said.

Previously, the eVersity made four new hires.

The “instructional designer” is expected to earn between $50,000 and $62,000. “Working as part of a collaborative instructional design team, the designer analyzes and researches a faculty member’s learning situation, expectations, learning outcomes, and other deliverables and identifies the necessary software, technology, and infrastructure required to meet those needs,” the job description states, in part.

The adviser position is advertising a salary between $45,000 and $55,000, with job expectations including “developing, promoting, delivering and evaluating initiatives that support online learning and degree completion.”

The assistant director for financial aid and affordability will have job duties that will include “planning, processing, awarding, and managing a strategic financial aid program.” The advertised salary is $52,000.

Another opening is for an assistant director of on-boarding and records, with the position earning an advertised salary of $52,000. The eVersity had earlier named Tammy Harrison as director of on-boarding and records, earning a salary of $120,000.

UA System trustees approved the creation of the eVersity in March.
