Where I live: I live in the Pleasant Valley neighborhood of west Little Rock with my husband, Steve.

Occupation: I am a nonprofit administrator and fundraiser, and the executive director of LifeQuest.

My favorite space is: Our living room.

Why? My favorite, southwestern-style furnishings are in this room. It's where my husband and I relax together. And it's where we spend the most time playing with our grandchildren when they come over. There's a bright red rug in one area that is the designated "toy zone," although we've kind of let the toys, games, books and puzzles spill all over the room in recent years, as the number of grandchildren increased. It's quite a chore putting everything away, and the kids are required to help -- Mimi and Pops need their space back -- the entire space. Also, some of my favorite artwork -- like Last Ride by Taos, (New Mexico)-based artist Ed Sandoval -- hangs in this room. And I have two views from here, one to the front yard and one out the French doors to the deck and the backyard.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Raise the ceiling. Some years ago, I asked interior designer Tom Chandler to rate my living room. He gave it a 9. When I asked what would make it a 10, he said, "Raise the ceiling." Unfortunately, there's another floor above it.
