2 arrested, 1 sought in Benton bank robbery

Two of three suspects in a June bank robbery in Benton were arrested Monday in Louisiana, police said.

Benton Police Department spokesman Lt. Kevin Russell said in an email that Rodney Hurdsman, 45, and Stephanie Hurdsman, 39, were apprehended in Shreveport, La., after warrants for their arrest were issued last week on charges of aggravated robbery in theft of property. The Hurdsmans, who are husband and wife, and Stephanie Hurdsman's sister Oneida Saylor, 35, are accused in the June 16 armed robbery of the Malvern National Bank, located at 1111 Military Road.

Russell said the Hurdsmans are in jail awaiting extradition to Arkansas and possibly other states to face charges. However, neither were listed as current inmates on the Caddo Parish sheriff's office online inmate roster.

Saylor remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous, according to Russell. Anyone with information about Saylor's whereabouts is asked to call 911 or contact their local law enforcement agency.
